The Gender Critical (GC) movement is an unholy mess. Its participants know many of the things they are fighting against, but they have failed to identify the larger thing they are combating.
The consequences of the legal, social, linguistic, medical, and institutional deconstruction of the human sex binary are proliferating across nearly every front of society, faster than activists can keep up. A far more effective strategy would be to coalesce these battles around a single target: the deconstruction of the human sex binary itself. This could also help the public understand what is actually at stake.
The factions calling themselves gender critical are running in different directions, fighting different manifestations of the same beast. The problem is that they don't agree on what the beast is. They don't connect the dots within their own movement.
